Job Description
Do you want to play a key role in ensuring operations run smoothly in a highly automated and modern machine park?
At Cummins in Lindesberg, we manufacture components for heavy-duty vehicles, and our facility covers the entire chain from forging and machining to assembly. Here you get the best of both worlds: the familiar atmosphere of a local company and the career opportunities in a global corporation.
We are now looking for an experienced Automation Electrician with an interest in CNC and machining equipment who excels at troubleshooting and thrives where electrical and mechanical systems meet!
Cummins in Lindesberg is one of the region's most important employers and a cornerstone of Swedish heavy vehicle manufacturing. Here, over a hundred years of engineering expertise is combined with modern, sustainable technology.
We warmly welcome your application!
In this recruitment, we are working with Randstad. Recruitment consultant Hannah Sandström is available to answer questions about the role and the recruitment process at [email protected]. Selection and interviews will begin from week 33. Response times may be longer than usual due to the summer period.
Responsibilities
Your main focus will be on ensuring high availability in production through active maintenance and rapid troubleshooting during acute shutdowns. The role is fundamentally operational and technical, with an emphasis on problem-solving rather than software development. The machine park consists of approximately 100 machines, both older and more modern equipment. The role also involves extensive collaboration with other departments. For example, you will work closely with production teams to solve complex problems where mechanical and electrical systems meet.
You will work operationally with both acute troubleshooting and preventive maintenance in our machine park, which consists of approximately 100 machines. The focus is on problem-solving and collaboration with our production teams.
The role includes:
Systematic troubleshooting on industrial machines, machining equipment, and robot cells by reading electrical diagrams and interpreting machine alarms.
Troubleshooting in control systems (Siemens TIA Portal and Sinamics). You don't need to write code from scratch, but you should be able to read, understand, and make minor optimizations.
Working with installation, assembly of electrical cabinets, cable routing, and commissioning of new machine cells.
Performing safety-critical work with high-voltage power (400V up to 10kV).
With us, you get the right conditions to grow and work safely. We cover costs and conduct ongoing certifications you need, such as electrical safety (NERCA), machinery safety (DEKRA), and forklift certification.
Other Details:
Working hours: 2-shift.
Employment type: Permanent full-time position (begins with 6-month probationary period).
Agreement: Collective agreement via IF Metall.
Start date: Immediately.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
Genuine technical understanding combined with relevant electrical background and a natural aptitude for logical troubleshooting.
Relevant electrical education – upper secondary school or vocational higher education (YH) with an electrical focus.
Good technical understanding and ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical diagrams and work logically with troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Good knowledge of Siemens control systems (TIA Portal, Sinamics).
Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
To excel in this role, we would appreciate if you recognize yourself in the following:
CNC & Machining: If you have experience with, or knowledge of, machine manufacturers such as Okuma, Machak, or Fanuc, that is a plus.
Robotics: Experience with industrial robots (for example, ABB) is highly valued.
Control Systems: You have good knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal and Sinamics.
