About the Role
Do you want a meaningful job where you can make a real difference for both society and the energy transition? With us, you are part of a socially important operation with exciting projects, cutting-edge technology, and colleagues who value each other.
We are now looking for several experienced Automation and Communications Engineers who want to help build the maintenance operations of the future!
We are facing one of Vattenfall Eldistribution's largest investments ever – a historic joint effort to build stronger, more resilient, and entirely our own capacity within maintenance and repair. At a time when the world is placing ever-higher demands on robustness and durability, we are taking decisive steps to secure an electricity network that can handle difficult conditions and deliver when it matters most.
Responsibilities and Tasks
We are now looking for Automation and Communications Engineers who want to strengthen our technology department. We offer you free and responsible work where you help ensure reliable and modern infrastructure in our facilities throughout the country. Here you will have good opportunities for both technical specialization and personal development in the role.
In the Technology & Control Systems Department, approximately 50 engineers work with specialized expertise in automation, communications, control equipment, and design. Here you will meet colleagues who are passionate about technology, enjoy sharing their knowledge, and take great responsibility for both quality and safety.
Your role as an Automation and Communications Engineer
Contribute to preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of automation and communications equipment
Contribute to projects involving renovation and new construction of automation and communications solutions and ensure the implementation of new, ongoing projects in the area
Help develop designs, procure materials, construct, implement, install, and commission systems
Manage supplier and contractor relationships
Our work takes place in environments that sometimes involve high altitudes and potential risks, which means safety and risk awareness are always at the center. At the same time, our daily work is characterized by collaboration, problem-solving, and the opportunity to work close to the technology that keeps Sweden's electricity network running. Travel is a natural part of the work, mostly during the day but overnight trips occur.
Requirements Specification
Our working approach is characterized by freedom with responsibility, and as a person you are therefore driven by taking on challenges, solving problems, and reaching set goals. Since you will have contact with both internal and external contacts, we are looking for someone who is service-oriented and enjoys working both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues.
In addition to your personal qualities, we would like you to have:
Education in telecommunications, automation, or electrical power, or alternatively corresponding practical experience that the employer deems equivalent
Several years of experience working in telecommunications, automation, or electrical power
Experience with technology such as fiber optics and radio-based communications, for example 4G and radio links, station bus-based networks according to the IEC61850 standard, and IP-based networks
You are fluent in both Swedish and English in writing and speech. Driving license category B is required.
Additional merits we value:
Experience from the electrical power industry
Experience in previously leading projects or work, preferably as a project manager, or alternatively work experience as a coordinator in the industry
Practical experience with working with and configuring remote control and control equipment, such as RTUs and protective relays
