About the Role
Would you like a meaningful job where you can make a real difference for both society and the energy transition? With us, you are part of a socially important operation with exciting projects, cutting-edge technology and colleagues who value each other.
We are now seeking several experienced Automation and Communications Engineers who want to help build the maintenance operations of the future!
We are facing one of Vattenfall Eldistribution's largest investments ever – a historic mobilization to build stronger, more resilient and completely independent capacity within maintenance and repair. At a time when the world is placing ever higher demands on robustness and durability, we are taking decisive steps to secure an electricity grid that can cope with difficult conditions and delivers when needed most.
Responsibilities and Tasks
We are now looking for Automation and Communications Engineers who want to strengthen our technology department. We offer you free and responsible work where you help ensure reliable and modern infrastructure in our facilities across the country. Here you have good opportunities for both technical specialization and personal development in the role.
In the Technology & Control Systems Department, approximately 50 engineers work with specialist expertise in automation, communications, control equipment and design. Here you will meet colleagues who are passionate about technology, enjoy sharing their knowledge and take great responsibility for both quality and safety.
Your Role as an Automation and Communications Engineer
Participate in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of automation and communications equipment
Participate in renovation and new construction projects for automation and communications solutions and ensure implementation of new, ongoing projects in the area
Help develop design, procure materials, construct, implement, install and commission systems
Manage supplier and contractor contacts
Our work takes place in environments that sometimes involve significant heights and potential risks, which is why safety and risk awareness are always at the center. At the same time, our daily work is characterized by collaboration, problem-solving and the opportunity to work close to the technology that keeps Sweden's electricity grid running. Travel is a natural part of the work, mostly day trips but overnight travel also occurs.
Job Specification
Our approach is characterized by freedom with responsibility, and as a person you are therefore driven by taking on challenges, solving problems and reaching set goals. Since you will have contact with both internal and external contacts, we are looking for someone who is service-oriented and enjoys working both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues.
In addition to your personal qualities, we would like you to have:
Education in telecommunications, automation or electrical power, or equivalent practical experience that the employer deems equivalent
Several years of experience working in telecommunications, automation or electrical power
Experience with technology such as fiber optics and radio-based communications, for example 4G and radio links, station bus-based networks according to the IEC61850 standard and IP-based networks
You communicate easily in both Swedish and English, in writing and speech. Driving License Category B is a requirement.
Additional qualifications we value:
Experience from the electrical power industry
Experience of previously leading projects or work, preferably as a project manager, or alternatively work experience as a coordinator in the industry
Practical experience of working with and configuring remote control and control equipment, for example RTUs and protective relays
