Your Role – and Why It Matters
As an automation engineer, you play a key role in our projects from initial concept to fully functional facility. In practice, this means you'll work with:
Programming and configuration of control systems to create efficient and smart solutions
Retrofits and modernization of existing facilities where you combine analysis, problem-solving, and engineering
New turnkey projects, where you take responsibility from start to final delivery
Long-term, we'd like to see you develop toward a more leadership and coaching role, where you become a mentor for our junior engineers and contribute to the team's competence development. The role is shaped based on both our clients' needs and your own strengths and motivations.

Qualifications
We're looking for an experienced automation engineer who wants to drive advanced automation solutions at AFRY. The role suits you if you consider yourself mid-level/senior and have several years of experience in automation and relevant education or equivalent work experience.
You are self-driven, take initiative, and thrive in project-based teams where you take responsibility for complex projects. We value your problem-solving ability, your business-minded approach, and your ability to build strong relationships. With us, you work closely with customers and colleagues on exciting assignments across various industries.
Requirements
Several years of experience in automation
Relevant education or equivalent work experience
Experience from industries such as automotive, process industry, water & waste, or energy & heating
Fluid command of Swedish and English in speech and writing
Class B driver's license
Knowledge and experience with systems such as: SIMATIC PCS7, ABB 800xA
Merits
Experience from Pharma/Life Science or manufacturing industry
Knowledge of systems such as: AVEVA System Platform, Siemens TIA, and other DCS/PLC/SCADA systems
Experience with older ABB products such as AC450 and MP200 as well as system upgrades
