Assistants with Attention to Detail and Compassionate Care Needed
We are seeking 2 new assistants to join our team supporting a man in his 30s. Our client has autism, moderate intellectual disability, and epilepsy. Daily life is characterized by a calm pace where the client's mood and condition guide activities. The work involves a strong focus on creating a safe, supportive home environment tailored to his needs. It is important that as an assistant you are comfortable spending work shifts entirely at home. Although the client has interests such as vehicles, music, secondhand shopping, outings, and coffee breaks, he may choose to stay indoors and can decline suggested activities. Your role is to be a responsive support and respect his choices, while together creating a meaningful daily life—for example through films, board games, iPad activities, or quiet moments at home. As an assistant, you are the client's safe anchor in daily life. Your tasks include: Personal Support: Assistance with personal care, daily routines, and household management. Activities: Support with shopping, outings, and social interactions. Safety and Communication: A central part of the work is being attuned to the client's wellbeing. When stressed, anxious, or having difficulty expressing himself, the client may express strong frustration through intense emotional expressions. Your role requires you to remain calm, serve as a stable role model, and guide him when the outside world becomes too overwhelming. Who Are You? We are looking for someone who is stable, responsible, and has a pedagogical approach. You have genuine patience and the ability to create the structure the client needs to thrive. Requirements: Valid driver's license and access to your own vehicle (the residence is outside Visby). Non-smoker. Comfortable working varied shifts. Desirable Qualifications: Experience with low-arousal behavior support (LAB). Knowledge of autism, intellectual disability, or epilepsy. Previous experience in personal assistance or similar care work. We place great importance on personal fit and chemistry. We are looking for someone who can combine professionalism with warm and calm care. Practical Information Work Hours: Shifts are scheduled as long shifts (08–21), split shifts (08–16 / 16–21), and night shifts (21–08). You can choose whether you want to work nights or not. Start Date: Orientation will begin as soon as possible by agreement. We welcome your application! Please describe your experience with similar work and explain why you believe you would thrive in this assistant role with us.
