Assistants with Strong Organizational Skills and Compassionate Care Needed

We are seeking 2 new assistants to join our team supporting a man in his 30s. Our client has autism, a moderate intellectual disability, and epilepsy. Daily life is characterized by a calm pace where the client's condition guides activities. The work involves a strong focus on the home environment and creating a safe, supportive living situation adapted to his needs. It is important that as an assistant you are comfortable spending entire shifts within the home. Although the client has interests in vehicles, music, secondhand shopping, outings, and socializing, he may choose to stay indoors and decline suggested activities. Your role is to be present as a responsive support and respect his choices, while together creating a meaningful daily life—for example through films, board games, iPad activities, or quiet moments at home. As an assistant, you are the client's trusted point of stability in daily life. Your responsibilities include: Personal Support: Assistance with care, routines, and household management. Activities: Support with shopping, outings, and social situations. Safety and Communication: A central part of the work is being attentive to the client's well-being. When stressed, anxious, or struggling to communicate, the client may express strong frustration through intense emotional outbursts. Your role requires you to remain calm, act as a stable role model, and guide him when the outside world becomes too overwhelming. Who Are You? We are looking for someone who is stable, responsible, and has a pedagogical approach. You have genuine patience and the ability to create the structure the client needs to thrive. Job Requirements: Valid driver's license and access to your own car (the residence is outside Visby). Non-smoker. Comfortable working varying hours. Meritorious Qualifications: Experience with low-arousal behavior management (LAB). Knowledge of autism, intellectual disability, or epilepsy. Previous experience in personal assistance or similar care work. We place great importance on personal fit and chemistry. We are looking for someone who can combine professionalism with a warm and calm demeanor. Practical Information Work Hours: Shifts are scheduled as long shifts (08–21), split shifts (08–16 / 16–21), and night shifts (21–08). You can choose whether you want to work nights or not.
