FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ENERGY, Institute of Applied Computer Systems
for one (1) ASSISTANT position (0.55 FTE) – in the field of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information and Communication Technologies, sub-field of Systems Analysis, Modeling and Design
Duties and qualification requirements:
Master's degree in engineering sciences;
experience in conducting practical classes and/or laboratory work;
desired experience in conducting practical classes and/or laboratory work in computer vision, image processing, image analysis, or other related fields;
experience in implementing scientific projects and/or contract research.
Assists professor, associate professor, senior researcher, or researcher;
participates in developing study courses, their improvement, and preparation of teaching materials; evaluates quality assessments of student academic performance;
conducts or scientifically participates in implementing research and development projects and scientific contract research; manages the total amount of funding attracted to projects.
Excellent knowledge of Latvian and English for international project implementation.
Salary: EUR 1190/month gross.
Candidates wishing to participate in the competition must submit electronically (signed with a secure electronic signature) to the email ([email protected]) of the Human and Organizational Development Department of Riga Technical University:
• a statement addressed to the rector requesting participation in the competition;
• curriculum vitae indicating scientific, pedagogical, organizational work experience and a list of published works over the last 6 (six) years (it is recommended to attach the list of published works as a separate appendix), as well as other documents that the candidate wishes to attach to the statement to more fully describe their qualifications;
• copies of documents confirming scientific/academic degrees or higher education and, if necessary, other documents specified in regulatory acts (for example, documents confirming state language proficiency, etc.), presenting their originals if the candidate is participating in the competition for the first time at RTU and has not previously submitted copies of these documents to the Personnel Department;
• a public presentation of a report on their scientific activity, which must be presented to the structural unit (or council/board) in a timely manner before election.
When applying for the first time, the CV should include a link to the candidate's created and, if possible, completed ORCID (https://orcid.org/) profile.
When a candidate applies again, the CV should include a link to a created ORCID (https://orcid.org/) profile containing:
information on at least – the candidate's biography, previous and current employment, education, scientific publications and projects of the last 6 years;
links to the employee's Web of Science profile (ResearcherID) and SCOPUS profile (Scopus Author ID), if the author has indexed publications in these bibliographic databases.
