Doctor (Specialist)

The State Commission for Health and Work Capacity Expertise announces a competition for a vacant position of Doctor Specialist in the Methodological Guidance and Control Department (two positions for an indefinite period; position load – 0.5 (for each position); work location – Ventspils Street 53, Riga, LV-1002) Position Purpose: Conduct functional limitation assessments and participate in the administrative act review process. Main Duties: • conduct medical expertise of a person's health disorders and functional abilities and make conclusions about functional limitations, their degree, and prognosis; • conduct regular, random, and incidental post-audits of initial expertise acts and prepare reports to the Department Head on audit results; • participate in the development of disability expertise methodological materials and in the training process for doctor experts; • participate in the process of preparing explanations for court in cases of appeal of decisions, and with authorization represent the Commission at court hearings. Requirements for Candidates: • higher medical education (doctor's diploma); • at least three years of experience working as a doctor; • knowledge of functioning in accordance with the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health; • ability to identify and analyze facts material to making expert conclusions; • ability to assess a person's health disorders and functional abilities; • communication, planning, monitoring, and analytical skills; • ability to work with a computer (MS Word, Excel) – at user level – and office equipment.
