At Habilitation Center Södertälje, we work with adolescents and adults with disabilities. We work in an interdisciplinary team that includes occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists. We serve residents in Salem, Södertälje, and Nykvarn municipalities.
Through advice, support, and treatment, we create conditions for patients to function at their absolute best in their daily lives. We specialize in intellectual disabilities (ID), autism (ASD), and mobility impairments (MI).
We are now recruiting an occupational therapist for our ID/MI team and an occupational therapist for our ASD team.
Job Responsibilities
As an occupational therapist with us, you will assess patients' abilities and needs, plan treatment interventions, implement them, and issue certificates when needed. For example, you will provide advice, support, information, and knowledge about disabilities to patients and their families. Together with patients and their families, you will develop strategies and, when needed, trial, prescribe, and follow up on individually adapted assistive devices.
Habilitation services are offered both individually and in groups, physically at the clinic, digitally, over the phone, in the patient's home environment when needed, or at another appropriate location. Work is carried out individually but also together with team colleagues, family members, or networks.
Collaboration with other healthcare providers, municipal services, or authorities is part of the work, as our patients may have needs requiring such cooperation.
We place great emphasis on professional development and offer a very structured introductory period, specific introductory training, further in-depth staff training, collegial support and collaboration, as well as access to case supervision.

Qualifications
You have a strong interest in people, are motivated by supporting people toward a meaningful life, and value the equal worth of all individuals. You are interested in developing both your clinical work and our collective efforts. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
You are a licensed occupational therapist, and it is meritorious if you have experience with habilitation and/or working with our target groups, as well as with the prescription process.
We request that you hold a Category B driver's license.
The position is filled under the condition that it does not need to be used for internal redeployment, according to applicable regulations.
For patient-facing work within Stockholm County Healthcare Area:
- A background check is applied before employment decisions according to SLSO's comprehensive guidelines for background checks in hiring.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employee health examination according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
- In addition to Swedish professional licensure, proficiency in Swedish language equivalent to C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirement is guidance for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
