Description of Work Tasks As an occupational therapy assistant, you are an important support in our operations and work closely with our occupational therapists. You perform independent work tasks after instruction and guidance, and you will have a mentor who supports your development. An important part of the work is supporting patients' activity capacity. Under guidance from your mentor, you will participate in adapting activities and environments based on patient needs. The work may include training patients in the use of various assistive devices, both physical and cognitive, as well as following up interventions in the patient's home environment. You will become part of a dedicated team where occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and nurses work together around the patient. This position is a valuable complement to our current operations and gives you a unique opportunity to develop within your future profession. Fyrisborgsgatan 1 in Uppsala is our shared base. Here you'll meet colleagues, plan your work, and head out for the day's home visits with patients. On the same floor as the Care Board's licensed staff, which creates excellent conditions for close collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint development with other professions. The proximity to colleagues makes it easy to get support, share knowledge, and participate in development and training activities together with other professions. This is a project position for 1 year and includes approximately 20%. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:30–16:00. Qualifications We're looking for you who: Have completed and been approved for term four of the Occupational Therapy Program at Uppsala University. Have been approved for the two clinical placement periods completed during your studies. Have a driver's license (category B). Have good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written. We're looking for you who have the ability to work independently after guidance from your mentor. You take responsibility for your work tasks and work goal-oriented. Since the work involves close collaboration with colleagues and your occupational therapy mentor, it's important that you have good collaboration skills and relate to others in a responsive and flexible way. You have good empathetic ability and can understand patients' and relatives' situations without taking on their emotions, which is important when working with our patients in health and care services in the home.
