The Habilitation Center for Children and Youth serves children and young people up to and including 17 years of age with mobility limitations, intellectual disabilities, and/or autism, as well as their families. We work person-centered, which means that the child, young person, and family are involved throughout the entire care process. At our center, we work in teams where occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, speech-language pathologists, special education teachers, medical secretaries, physicians, nurses, and dietitians provide coordinated support. Hässleholm is a major railway hub with the station within walking distance of our center, and buses also serve the area. DUTIES As an occupational therapist with us, you work to strengthen the child's or young person's opportunities for activity, participation, and independence in daily life. You work with, among other things: • assessing activity capacity and identifying intervention needs • providing advice, treatment, and coaching to children, young people, and their networks • prescribing and fitting cognitive and other medical technical aids • participating in home adaptations and adaptation of other environments • collaborating with preschools, schools, healthcare, social services, and other actors involved with the child or young person. The work is independent but you're never alone. We value knowledge exchange and support each other in daily work. We're looking for someone who wants to contribute both expertise and commitment. You appreciate varied work, enjoy collaborating, and at the same time have the ability to plan and manage your own work. With us you'll receive a structured introduction tailored to your previous experience and a mentor who supports you during your initial period with opportunities for further development through mentoring. You'll have regular professional meetings with strong collegial support. Working hours are daytime, and on Mondays we work until 6:30 PM, which is compensated by finishing at 2:30 PM on Fridays or having one free Friday per month. We apply flexible working hours when work allows. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you as a licensed occupational therapist with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare and who has Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Since travel to the child's home or school is part of the position, a valid Class B driver's license is also a requirement. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children and young people, habilitation, cognitive support, or medical device prescription. Additionally, you should be experienced with various IT systems and have openness to digital care contacts, e-health, and 1177. Since we work in teams, it is important that you see the value of and contribute to good collaboration. In your role you'll also have close contact with both family members and other organizations, which requires good demeanor and strong communication skills. Psychiatry, Habilitation and Medical Aids is the second largest department with operations throughout Skåne. Habilitation provides habilitation and rehabilitation within publicly run child, youth, and adult habilitation. Medical Aids is tasked with handling medical devices prescribed to patients in Skåne. The department also includes vision, hearing, and deaf services and youth clinics in Skåne.
