About the role
You work in a team together with a physical therapist, nurses, and care staff, and your task is to provide quality of life. You see each individual and have the ability to understand what each person needs.
In your role as an occupational therapist, you find together with the residents the best ways to use their own abilities in daily life. You support and motivate individuals to develop and maintain their own physical, cognitive, and social abilities. This often involves making assessments and adapting the daily environment. You also test and prescribe physical and cognitive aids. You provide guidance to your colleagues in rehabilitation measures, approaches, transfer techniques, and more. Often you also maintain contact with the residents' relatives. At Polhemsgården, the occupational therapist is also part of the dementia team, together with a physical therapist, Silvia sister, and Silvia nurse.
About Polhemsgården
Polhemsgården in Solna consists of 80 apartments with a dementia focus as well as the day activity center Lyktan. Polhemsgården has nature and gardening as its profile. Time outdoors and activities in nature, parks, and gardens are natural parts of our daily life. We work with different nature themes throughout the year.
Dementia Certification: We are a dementia-certified residence, which means that everyone working here is trained in dementia and care approaches through Silviahemmet and the dementia academy.
Young Care: We have a partnership with the company Ung Omsorg. This means that a team of young people aged 14–18 years visit us on weekends and holidays. Ung Omsorg carries out various activities with us who work here, to enhance the quality of life for our residents.
Your experience and knowledge

You are a licensed occupational therapist and we would like to see that you have a few years of experience in elderly care. You have good computer skills and experience with documentation. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a requirement.
