The operation is organizationally part of Close Care and Health, Mobile Teams and Specialized Palliative Care, southwestern Scania. Advanced Home Care (ASIH) and the palliative care unit deliver specialized palliative care. The operation is under continuous development, and the two units work closely together. ASIH consists mainly of three teams serving enrolled patients, but also includes an outpatient team and a consultation team. The palliative care unit is an inpatient ward providing advanced end-of-life care. Patient needs drive the visits, and we work both independently and as a team. Our interdisciplinary team consists of physicians, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nursing assistants, dietitians, and medical secretaries. The shared rehabilitation team currently consists of three occupational therapists, three physiotherapists, and three social workers. We are seeking someone interested in placement at both ASIH and the palliative care unit in Malmö, where you will be based in one of the ASIH teams with patients enrolled in their homes but will spend part of your time at the unit. As an occupational therapist, you will also be part of a well-functioning Scania-wide network for Palliative Care and ASIH in Scania with regular meetings, both in-person and digitally. 1 position(s). Focus is on alleviating physical pain and providing psychological, social, and existential support to the patient and their loved ones. The aim of care is to help the patient achieve the best possible quality of life at the end of life while neither hastening nor postponing death. Working in Palliative Care and ASIH in Malmö means working patient-centered and contributing to creating safety in difficult life situations for all our enrolled patients. You meet the patient, listen carefully, and work based on existing conditions with the patient's goals in focus. The occupational therapist's tasks include assessing functional and activity abilities, but primarily focus on enabling and facilitating activities that create meaning and improve quality of life for our patients. Collaboration regarding assistive device needs occurs with the municipality's prescribers. QUALIFICATIONS You must be a licensed occupational therapist with authorization to practice in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language proficiency at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is required. Additionally, you must have a valid B driving license. Experience working with seriously ill patients is merit-based. Since both our record system and planning tools are digital, it is important that you are comfortable using a computer. Further merit includes training in, for example: Soft massage, Mediyoga, or Basic Body Awareness. We believe that you have a genuine interest in palliative care, the ability to focus on the patient's needs, and the ability to prioritize your work tasks. Since part of the work involves support and conversations, you must also be attentive and have good ability to build care relationships.
