JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As an occupational therapist in Disability Services and Social Psychiatry (FoS), you'll work with individuals who have difficulties with their daily activities due to physical and/or mental functional limitations. Your target group will be all individuals over 20 years old with an LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) decision who live in either LSS group homes or ordinary housing, as well as individuals in daily activities throughout Ystad municipality. The role has a clear focus on assessment, structure, and methodological support.
You'll be part of a team consisting of three nurses, two physiotherapists, and two occupational therapists. You'll work closely with support educators, personal assistants, and family members who are part of the patient's daily life. Habilitation and rehabilitation within FoS may involve comprehensive activity assessments. Common interventions include prescribing cognitive aids, specially adapted mobility aids, and adapted activity performance in daily activities.
The occupational therapist collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders.
We are in a transition process based on the new Social Services Act, and we're seeking someone who wants to contribute to a structured and sustainable working method in line with the new law. As part of our efforts toward more climate-smart work practices, cycling for transportation may increasingly become part of the work going forward.
To ensure you have a secure start in your new role, we offer structured mentorship. As a new occupational therapist, you'll receive support from an experienced colleague who serves as your mentor throughout the entire introduction period. The mentorship gives you the opportunity to develop in your professional role, receive guidance in daily work, and become part of the team in a secure and sustainable way.
QUALIFICATIONS
We're looking for a licensed occupational therapist with a genuine interest in our patients. You are confident in your professional role, take responsibility, and have strong commitment to our patients and their different circumstances. You need to have theoretical and practical experience with functional variations. You have the ability to guide and motivate patients based on their different needs. You plan, organize, and prioritize work efficiently. Since the work also involves a certain amount of independent work, you need to be able to work autonomously and be flexible in different situations—both in pace and work methods—and be service-oriented.
The position requires a valid driver's license (category B) and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
Experience in the profession is advantageous. If you also have experience in multiprofessional teamwork, this is a plus—as is good knowledge of future perspectives and development within healthcare and care services. Additionally, it's advantageous if you can and are open to cycling for work purposes. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Are you an engaged and considerate Occupational Therapist seeking new challenges and wanting to contribute to the best possible care for our patients? Submit your application today! Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
