JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As an occupational therapist, you work with the whole person and their physical and cognitive abilities. You also implement interventions to strengthen the person's independence and increase activity and participation in daily life. The occupational therapist's areas of responsibility include assessments of patients' activity and functional capacity, training interventions in the home, prescription and fitting of assistive devices, environmental assessments, and issuing certificates for housing adaptations. You also work to promote health and prevent illness to increase opportunities for an active life with good quality of life. You work closely with a physiotherapist and rehabilitation assistant. The work includes informing, instructing, and guiding patients, care personnel, and relatives. The occupational therapist and physiotherapist work closely with other professionals such as home care staff, residential staff, nurses, and social workers in their geographic team. As an occupational therapist, you have many contacts with patients, staff, and relatives, which requires that you have good communication skills, are attentive, and have an aptitude for creating and maintaining good relationships. Person-centered care and participation are important guiding principles for us on the journey toward nearby care. You will play an important role in our continued work to develop municipal primary care together with colleagues and your manager. The position includes responsibility for patients both in special housing and in ordinary housing. As a member of the rehabilitation unit, you work daytime, Monday through Friday, and we have flexible work hour agreements. You work from a centrally located office in Färjestaden. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you, a licensed occupational therapist, who wants to work with rehabilitation in the patient's home environment. We welcome both applicants with extensive experience and those who are newly qualified. As a new employee with us, you will receive a mentor, and the work group will help and support each other. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and that you are interested in municipal rehabilitation and in the people we meet in our work. You are curious, enjoy problem-solving, and are comfortable working both flexibly with people from different professions and independently. You have good interpersonal skills and the ability to convey knowledge in a pedagogical manner based on where the individual is at. A driver's license is required. To be eligible for employment within social care in Mörbylånga Municipality, the employer will ask the applicant to provide an extract from the police criminal records register in relation to care facilities.
