Habilitering & Hälsa offers specialized care and support to individuals with permanent functional disabilities, including reduced ability to communicate, see, hear, or move. The goal is to maintain and develop functional abilities, create conditions for good health, and enable active participation in society. Do you want to make a difference for people with functional disabilities? Welcome to Habilitering & Hälsa, part of Västra Götalandsregionen. Together, we have the power to create change. Habilitation is specialized health and medical care for children and young people with autism, intellectual disabilities, movement disorders, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and treatment interventions based on each individual's unique needs and circumstances, and have specialist knowledge about how functional disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development. Description Do you want to help children who have had a different start in life reach their full potential? Do you want the opportunity to use the full range of occupational therapy skills and contribute important pieces to team collaboration? Then we hope you apply to Habilitering! We are now seeking an occupational therapist for a temporary position, as one of our occupational therapists will be on parental leave starting in January 2027. The position is 100%. We look forward to your application! Duties As an occupational therapist at Habilitering Children and Youth, you will be part of a team with a physical therapist, speech-language pathologist, special educator, social worker, nurse, physician, and psychologist. Your duties include assessing and evaluating patients' abilities regarding daily activities, activity balance, motor skills, and time perception. Treatment interventions are then planned together with the team, patient, and their network. Prescription of individually adapted assistive devices and orthoses is a major part of the role. Patient participation and understanding of the interventions provided are important to us, and we work systematically with visual support before and during visits, for example through picture communication, schedule boards, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. We work using a consultative approach where team members are largely advisors to the patient and their immediate environment, such as guardians and school staff. Interventions can be provided individually or in groups, at the clinic, in the patient's home, or at school. You will receive an introduction, peer supervision, and professional development opportunities with other occupational therapists within Habilitering & Hälsa. Qualifications You must be a licensed occupational therapist. Experience in habilitation, working with children and young people, and interprofessional collaboration is a merit. You have the ability to organize and structure your patient work independently. Collaboration skills, flexibility, and good communication are essential; therefore, personal suitability is weighted heavily. The position requires travel, so a driver's license (category B) is a requirement. Other Information Within Habilitering & Hälsa, we strive for balanced gender representation and view diversity as a strength, where our employees' differences enrich and develop our operations. Benefits at Habilitering & Hälsa include pension plans, salary conversion, insurance coverage, free public health and medical care, and wellness contributions.
