We are seeking an environmental health and safety coordinator with knowledge of environmental and safety matters. The role will be part of the administration unit, Operations and Maintenance.
Operations and Maintenance consists of six units in total. The department handles the external maintenance of the municipality's parks, green areas, swimming areas, streets and bicycle paths, as well as winter road maintenance for Södertälje Municipality. The department also manages external maintenance, including winter road maintenance, for Telge Fastigheters property portfolio. The overarching goal of the operations is to create a clean, well-maintained and safe environment for everyone in Södertälje Municipality.
Your Responsibilities
As a coordinator for occupational health and safety, environment and fire protection, you contribute to safe, sustainable and well-functioning operations of parks and outdoor environments. The role combines operational support with developmental and coordinating work in occupational health and safety, environment and systematic fire protection work with a focus on compliance and preventive measures. The work takes place in close collaboration with the operations in daily work. Within occupational health and safety, environment and fire protection, you are responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and following up on the work. The role helps reduce risks, improve the work environment and reduce the operations' environmental impact. You work closely with managers, supervisors and employees with follow-up, coordination, support and practical improvement work within the occupational health and safety field.
Who Are You?
You have a clear understanding and experience of systematic occupational health and safety work, as well as an understanding that assignments create added value for both employees and citizens.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety, environment, sustainability, engineering or similar field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety, environment and fire protection, as well as the ability to implement regulations and procedures in practice.
- Experience coordinating, following up and documenting work within one or more of the areas of occupational health and safety, environment or fire protection.
- Good administrative skills and experience working structurally with documentation, implementation, follow-up and improvement work.
- Strong ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
- Class B driver's license
Merits:
- Experience in park operations, property maintenance or other outdoor environment management.
- Knowledge of machinery safety, work in public environments or risks related to practical operations.
- Experience with management systems, such as ISO 14001 or ISO 45001.
- Experience with systematic fire protection work (SBA), internal follow-up or coordination of training initiatives.
