The Labor Market and Integration Department is responsible for the integration of newly arrived immigrants, labor market issues, and the municipal activity responsibility in Umeå Municipality. We are an important actor in work for social sustainability and inclusion. By supporting individuals on their path toward employment or studies, we contribute both to people's own livelihoods and to employers' skills supply and the development of inclusive workplaces. We have one of Sweden's most important missions – to create hope for the future. The department supports participants who need support to take the next step toward employment or studies. The work takes place in close collaboration with actors such as social services, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Public Employment Service, Region Västerbotten, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, and employers. We are also an active part of the collaboration platform Labor Market Square, where we together with other authorities offer coordinated support to people with complex support needs. Operations are greatly influenced by external factors such as societal development, political decisions, changed legislation, and labor market conditions. This requires continuous development and the ability to adapt working methods and interventions according to new needs. Will you become one of us? Your tasks As a labor market consultant with responsibility for group activities, you provide participants with the conditions to begin/resume studies or take steps toward employment. The assignment involves you being responsible for periodic group activities conducted on-site for young people and adults between 16–65 years old within one or more of the current activity areas: Labor Market Knowledge and Job Seeking, Study and Career Guidance, Health, Digital Skills, Language, and Civics. You are part of a work team where everyone has the task of planning, conducting, following up, and developing group activities. You work closely with participants' individual resources through follow-up and documentation according to procedures in the current operational system. About you We are looking for a team player who can work independently and wants to develop and motivate people in groups. You can create psychological safety in groups, focus on participants' health factors and strengths, and adapt group activities without losing content and purpose. You have great drive and work focused on the department's goals – that individuals begin employment or studies. You need to be creative, flexible, and solution-focused. Working in the Labor Market and Integration Department requires an interest and willingness to continuously develop and contribute to the development of operations. We place great importance on personal suitability. Requirements - Degree in a relevant higher education program, such as social sciences, behavioral sciences, pedagogy, or similar - Good knowledge and experience of the labor market, including understanding of the conditions set in working life and how various educational paths look - Experience working with people with different support needs, for example in mental health support, physical/mental illness, or work around challenging behaviors - Experience leading groups, for example by conducting workshops or similar - Fluent knowledge of Swedish language in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English - Class B driver's license Meritorious - Special education experience Employment information The position is a permanent employment, full-time, starting as soon as possible or by agreement.
