Särö Pastorat consists of Vallda, Kullavik and Släps parishes by the sea in Kungsbacka municipality, just south of Gothenburg. Our beautiful churches, cemeteries and our wonderful parish community play a major role in people's lives. We are responsible for three churches, a parish hall, pastoral office, two cemeteries, two cremation chapels and one disused cemetery. The pastorat's cemeteries, green spaces and properties are maintained by the sexton department, which consists of six church sextons plus two seasonal sextons and summer-working youth. The sexton department also works at funerals, weddings, baptisms and manages technical equipment/sound/lighting/music, and is responsible for arrangements at large events. As supervisory church sexton, you are the manager of the sexton department with responsibility for personnel, staffing and ongoing planning and administration for the sextons. You support, inspire and coordinate the expertise in your work team in daily operations, and have some budget responsibility and make purchases. You are also part of the work team and work as a church sexton maintaining cemeteries, green spaces and properties, and participate in services and religious ceremonies such as baptisms, weddings and funerals. Some of your work is administrative at the pastoral office and some is practical work outdoors. You work independently and receive support from your supervisor Kristian as needed. We want you to be able to see the bigger picture and can plan work in both the short and long term. You have extensive practical experience and knowledge but are also a good administrator who values order and organization. You are attentive and curious about learning new things and are prepared to meet parishioners at all stages of life. You are a member of the Church of Sweden and naturally share the Church of Sweden's values. Requirements Good leadership - Experience leading a work team and handling personnel matters. Experience with garden maintenance, property and machinery. It is an advantage if you have worked as a church sexton in the Church of Sweden. Experience with administrative work in various systems. You have a driver's license class B, and if you also have access to a car that is beneficial. Employment Terms Full-time including weekend duty every third weekend.
