About Us The Lung Clinic is divided into smaller specialist teams: the Oxygen Clinic, the Diagnostic Clinic, and the Specialist Clinic. At the Oxygen Clinic, work as a nurse involves education and follow-up of patients receiving oxygen therapy at home. At the Diagnostic Clinic (URM), patients with suspected lung cancer are investigated according to standardized care pathways. At the Specialist Clinic, nurses work primarily with care, follow-up, and treatment of patients with chronic lung disease and respiratory insufficiency. The clinic is open during daytime business hours Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. About the Job As a nurse at the Oxygen Clinic, you receive both outpatient referrals and referrals for hospitalized patients. Patients are called in to the clinic or seen for consultation on the ward. Work tasks include planning new visits and follow-up visits for check-ups, providing oral and written instruction on oxygen concentrators for home oxygen therapy, blood sampling, home visits, and telephone advice. Working as a nurse means you are an important part of the team working to ensure all patients receive good and safe care. As a nurse, you have varied work with a focus on patient-centered care and good development opportunities. We offer varied, stimulating, interesting, and developmental work with the possibility of rotation between units within pulmonary medicine by arrangement. About You You work close to patients and have good interpersonal skills, understanding, and interest in people. You listen well and communicate effectively with both patients and their relatives, and always work from a patient-focused perspective. Since you work in a team and have contact with various partners, you need good collaboration skills. You are secure and stable in yourself and can both adapt to situations and prioritize. To thrive in this role, you need to be flexible, be accustomed to taking initiative, and organize and plan your work independently. We consider it a merit if you have experience working in pulmonary medicine, but it is not required. Meet Some of Our Employees - Sahlgrenska University Hospital Clinical Foundation Year If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts during your first year of employment with us. The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, nursing mentorship, and practical training in your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, you will work in at least two different departments to broaden your competence. Foreign Nurse/Physician When recruiting nurses/physicians with foreign credentials/specialist qualifications, the position is preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish credentials/specialist qualifications.
