The Role of Lead Coach
The Tech School is for children and young people aged 7–15 who want to develop their swimming technique and take the next step in their swimming development.
As lead coach, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing the Tech School's activities. You lead swimmers and assistant instructors, monitor swimmers' progress, and ensure a safe, structured, and inspiring training environment.
This role gives you excellent opportunities to influence the Tech School's continued development, and you will work closely with the breadth coordinator, swim school coordinator, head coach, and club manager.
The position includes:
plan, lead, and follow up on technique training and local competitions
coach and inspire children and young people
lead, introduce, and support assistant instructors
contribute to the quality and development of our programs
maintain contact with guardians
handle certain administrative tasks
work collaboratively with other coaches and activity coordinators

You'll work in the newly built Uppsala Swim Arena and become part of the world's oldest swimming sports club.
Employment
This position is a temporary part-time role (30%) during fall 2026, starting in mid-August or by agreement. The employment runs through December 11, 2026 and is paid as a monthly salary. Working hours are irregular and primarily scheduled for afternoons, evenings, and weekends according to a set schedule. Collective bargaining agreement with the Employers' Alliance, sports industry agreement.
Who Are We Looking For?
We're looking for someone who wants to develop both people and programs. You are a trustworthy and dedicated leader who easily creates structure, builds relationships, and inspires children and young people. You enjoy taking responsibility and have a genuine interest in swimming, learning, and club life.
For success in this role, we believe you:
have experience in swimming, swim instruction, or swim training
have experience leading children and young people
are pedagogical, responsible, and organized
have strong collaboration and communication skills
express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written
Experience in club activities and training within Swedish Swimming is a merit. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
