ABOUT THE WORKPLACE The Streets Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Tranås Municipality's streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, and public spaces. We are a cohesive team of eight employees who together ensure that the municipality's residents and visitors encounter a safe, clean, and well-functioning outdoor environment. Read more about the administration https://tranas.se/kommun-och-politik/kommunens-organisation/forvaltningar/ JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As an equipment operator, you will work with the operation and maintenance of the municipality's public spaces. No two days are the same and the work tasks vary throughout the year. You will, among other things: - Maintain streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, and town squares - Perform minor repairs and paving work - Install and maintain traffic signs - Control weeds and keep public spaces clean and pleasant - Empty storm drain grates and perform routine maintenance - Work with snow removal and anti-icing during the winter season - Participate in street sweeping, road line painting, and other seasonal tasks - Maintain and clean public restrooms The position involves daytime work. On-call duty and some weekend work are included. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with upper secondary education in construction and civil engineering, vehicles and transport, or equivalent experience in the field of operations. You are comfortable with practical work, enjoy taking responsibility, and appreciate working both independently and with colleagues. A driver's license (Category B) is required for the position. Meritorious for the position: - Category C and CE driver's licenses - YKB (Swedish forklift operator certification) - Goods crane over 18 tonmeters - Work on Road training - Experience with truck-mounted cranes, cargo handling equipment, or construction machinery - Operating certificate for wheel loaders, forklifts, or brush cutters To succeed and thrive in this role, we believe that you are: - Self-reliant and responsible: You plan and drive your work forward independently while taking responsibility for tasks being completed in a safe and efficient manner. - Results and service-oriented: You work goal-oriented and strive to deliver good quality in what you do.
