At the newly established open support unit, we offer flexible social support, family support, family therapy, and individual parenting support. The unit is part of the social services' first line, and we are working to create a clear entry point to social services where we help people get the right support based on their needs regardless of their circumstances. The unit has two family support consultants, four social workers, three family therapists, and a unit manager. Family support is in a development phase and has been expanded to two positions, with its own group activities and with the goal of better reaching more groups of family members.

Your role
As a family support consultant, you will work with all groups of family members, with special focus on those who have elderly relatives. Family support has existed for a long time in the district administration, but is now being developed in connection with the transition to the new social services and in accordance with the city's family support program.
Together with your colleague, you develop family support, which is provided both individually and in groups. Discussion groups are a new intervention that provides an opportunity to meet other family members, exchange experiences, and gain increased knowledge. The purpose of the interventions is for the family member to receive support to understand, manage, and change their situation, and to provide psychological and social relief for the family member. The role of family support consultant is under development.
Your work tasks will include:
provide guidance and interventions to family members
facilitate group activities for family support
develop support for family members individually and in groups.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for you who have: (requirements)
a social work degree or other relevant academic education that the employer deems appropriate.
good Swedish in speech and writing.
It is meritorious to have:
experience meeting family members in your professional role
experience working with elderly with care needs
experience working within social services
experience facilitating group activities
To succeed in this role, you need to be development-oriented and comfortable with change, where you are flexible and easily adapt your approach to new circumstances. You like to think innovatively, find solutions, and build working methods and structures where everything is not yet in place. You feel comfortable in environments that develop over time and want to help shape the future way of working. We see that you are professional by distinguishing between the personal and professional, and are secure, stable, and have self-insight. You are self-driven and take responsibility for your work. As a family support consultant, you are expected to have pedagogical insight and understand how people acquire knowledge based on their different circumstances.
Other information
Working hours are scheduled for daytime Monday-Friday with some evening work in connection with group activities, to meet target groups who cannot be reached during daytime and to meet children, as we strive not to meet children during school hours.
