Family Support Consultant, Prevention Unit, Senior Care

Many adults in Sweden care for, help, or support a close relative at some point in life who has a long-term illness, is elderly, or has a disability. When this occurs regularly, more than once a month, it is referred to as family care or family caregiving. The Prevention Unit offers and provides support to family caregivers for their own benefit. The aim is to increase the opportunity for improved quality of life, reduce the burden on family caregivers, and decrease the risk of family caregivers experiencing their own health problems. Support is available to family caregivers whose close relatives are adults and living in their own homes. Currently, family caregivers can receive support in the form of counseling, health-promoting activities, caregiver education, and flexible relief care. Compensated family care is administered by a family support consultant within Prevention. We are now looking for you to work as a substitute family support consultant with us! Your Tasks As a family support consultant, you provide support through individual counseling, information, advice, and guidance based on the family caregiver's situation and needs. You plan and conduct training sessions, lectures, and activities, and you handle and administer compensated family care. The role also includes contributing to the development of operations based on the national family caregiver strategy. An important part of the role is collaborating with both internal and external partners, such as social workers, Senior Square (Seniortorget), volunteer coordinators, advocacy organizations, and health and medical services. You help family caregivers find the right support and often serve as a guide to other services when needed. About You You find it easy to build trusting relationships with family caregivers, their relatives, colleagues, and collaboration partners. You have a genuine commitment to family caregiver support and meet people with responsiveness, respect, and empathy. As a person, you are service-oriented, enjoy taking initiative, and actively contribute to the development of operations. You have good collaboration skills and thrive working both with others and independently toward common goals. You are receptive in collaboration with others while also daring to take initiative, express your opinions, and communicate in a clear and constructive manner. You work in a structured way while remaining flexible when the situation requires it. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Requirements Social work degree or other academic education that the employer deems equivalent Experience working with family caregiver support Knowledge of senior care operations Knowledge of social services operations and relevant legislation Good computer skills B-class driver's license Strong Swedish language proficiency, both spoken and written Meritorious Advanced training in family caregiver support, preventive work, or motivational interviewing Experience working as a family support consultant Welcome with your application today!
