Analyst

The Agency for Psychological Defense protects the open and democratic society and freedom of opinion by identifying, analyzing, and countering improper information influence and other misleading information directed at Sweden or Swedish interests. The Agency is led by a Director General and has approximately 90 employees. The Agency has offices in Karlstad and Solna. The Operations Division works to identify, analyze, and counter improper information influence directed at Sweden. The Division has three units consisting of two analysis units and one unit for operational response and preparedness. Duties You will be part of a team of qualified analysts working to identify, assess, and analyze improper information influence and its effects. Your main task is to develop comprehensive analyses and produce various types of materials by compiling existing material and information obtained through your own research. Your most important assignment is to write substantively, create context, and put matters in their proper perspective. This may include briefings, situation reports, threat actor analyses, reports, and more. Ongoing work also includes giving oral presentations and lectures both internally and externally. The materials are used to support Agency management, the Government Offices, and many national and international partners. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the joint work of developing the unit's working methods. Operational activities are event-driven and may be characterized by short lead times with demands for rapid and high-quality delivery. As an analyst, you collaborate with both national and international counterparts, and business travel both within and outside Sweden may occur. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: An academic degree that the employer finds relevant. Documented several years of experience in qualified analytical work within foreign policy, defense, or security policy areas. Very strong experience in operational written production where complex events are explained and contextualized in an understandable manner. Experience from event-driven operations characterized by short lead times. Exceptional ability to express yourself in writing in Swedish and English. It is an advantage if you have: Knowledge of security policy developments in Sweden's neighboring regions. In-depth knowledge and understanding of digital information environments and social media. Experience working within, for example, Swedish total defense, the crisis management system, or similar environments. Personal Qualities You thrive in a workplace under development and have the ability to maintain high quality even with short lead times. Communicating complex issues in a pedagogical and clear manner comes naturally to you. You are security-conscious and have excellent judgment. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities. About the Employment The employment is permanent full-time and may begin with a probationary period. We conduct a security check with background screening according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. In certain cases, Swedish citizenship is required. The Agency is part of Sweden's total defense and the position therefore entails wartime placement. Place of work is Solna, but work-related travel may occur.
