The Agency for Psychological Defense safeguards the open and democratic society and free formation of opinion by identifying, analyzing, and countering improper information influence and other misleading information directed at Sweden or Swedish interests.
The Agency is led by a Director General and has approximately 90 employees. The Agency has offices in Karlstad and Solna. The Operations Department works to identify, analyze, and counter improper information influence directed at Sweden. The department has three units consisting of two analysis units and one unit for operational response and preparedness.
We now need to strengthen our work by recruiting an analyst to one of the analysis units, based in Solna.
Responsibilities
You will be part of a team of qualified analysts working to identify, assess, and analyze improper information influence and its effects. The unit's work focuses on both state and foreign non-state threat actors, but may also include analyses in other subject areas.
The work uses several technical tools for monitoring and analysis of social and digital media. Your assignment will be to structure and document large quantities of information to analyze and interpret developments in the information environment. Your ongoing work will also include oral presentations and briefings on assessments both internally and externally.
Operations are event-driven and can be characterized by short lead times with demands for rapid and high-quality delivery. As an analyst, you will collaborate with both national and international counterparts. Business travel within and outside Sweden may occur.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
An academic degree that the employer finds relevant.
A very good understanding of digital information environments, social media trends, and user behavior.
Experience using various OSINT tools for information gathering and structured analysis of the information environment.
Documented knowledge of international relations and security policy.
Very good proficiency in Swedish and English.
It is meritorious if you have:
Experience working in an operational environment.
Experience identifying and analyzing manipulative behavior in the information environment.
Personal Qualities
You thrive in a developing workplace and have the ability to maintain high quality even under short lead times. Communicating complex issues in a pedagogical and clear manner comes naturally to you. You are security-conscious and have very good judgment. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities.
About the Employment
The position is permanent full-time and may begin with a probationary period. We conduct a security clearance with background check according to the Security Protection Act. In certain cases, Swedish citizenship is required. The Agency is part of Sweden's total defense, and therefore the position carries wartime placement obligations.
Your place of work is Solna, but business travel may occur. Scheduled on-call duty during certain evenings and weekends may be part of the position.
