Welcome to the Björna School Catchment Area – where future learning is shaped together! We are now seeking an engaged subject teacher in wood and metal crafts as well as technology at Björna and Gideå Schools, grades 3–9. Job Responsibilities You will teach both wood and metal crafts as well as technology at Björna School grades 3–9 and wood crafts at Gideå School grades 3–6. You will be part of the work team for grades 7–9 at Björna School, where we work closely together to develop instruction, plan and follow up with the curriculum and the municipality's goals as our benchmark. You will also have the opportunity to take on areas of responsibility based on your competence, interests, and the school's needs – we value initiative and new ideas. Right now Björna School is facing an exciting renovation – something that gives you as a new employee a unique opportunity to be involved and influence the school's future. You'll have the chance to contribute ideas about how our new wood/metal crafts rooms and other teaching environments should be designed to best support modern instruction and student learning. As a newly hired teacher in Örnsköldsvik Municipality, you will receive an introduction program during your first year. You will be assigned a mentor – an experienced colleague with the same subject qualifications – who will guide you and provide support in your professional role. Qualifications We are seeking someone who is a trained primary school teacher with qualifications to teach wood and metal crafts as well as technology. Experience in carpentry, woodworking, or other crafts areas is meriting and seen as a great asset in the position. Also, if you lack teaching credentials but have good practical experience and competence within crafts, you are warmly welcome to apply. We can offer fixed-term employment as an unqualified teacher.
