Operational Area (VO) Ambulance manages ambulance services in northwestern and southwestern Scania with ambulance stations in ten locations. Ambulance care in Region Scania has developed into a regionally equal operation with collaboration across former county borders, seamless dispatch, common treatment guidelines, and shared competency development. The operational area comprises approximately 380 employees. The department is undergoing change and development in several areas such as competency strengthening, research, education, and quality assurance, which has positive effects for both patients and employees. DUTIES We are now welcoming specialist nurses to join us, based in Malmö. The ambulance is often first on scene and the intervention can be crucial for the patient. As an ambulance nurse, you work with prehospital acute care where you meet patients of all ages who have suffered acute illness or injury. You assess and treat patients in their homes, at accident scenes, and during transport to healthcare facilities. Working as an ambulance nurse means a qualified and independent profession where you have the opportunity to focus on providing good care and showing compassion in every patient encounter. You are part of a team and always work together with an ambulance care assistant, another nurse, or a specialist-trained nurse, which creates a dynamic and supportive work environment. Prior to employment, there will be a selection process consisting of a suitability assessment in the form of an interview. If you are deemed to meet our requirements at the interview, you will be invited to a physical test and a driving test. Upon employment, you will be offered an introduction of approximately seven weeks, tailored to your previous experience and competencies. Our operations run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. First and foremost, we are seeking you with specialist training in ambulance care, but also you with other relevant specialist training in the field. You have Swedish language skills at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale. For this position, a Class B driving license and good driving experience are required. A Class C1 driving license or a Class B license obtained before July 1, 1996 is an asset for the position. Additionally, we consider it desirable that you have work experience from acute care. Working in an ambulance requires personal maturity and good judgment. We value that you are confident and well-established in your role as an ambulance nurse. You are engaged in your work and your willingness to contribute to the development of the operation is of great value.
