Description
Ingesund School of Music (MHI) is part of the Department of Artistic Studies at Karlstad University and constitutes the university's second campus in Arvika. MHI is a well-renowned school with good student recruitment. Here, subject teacher degrees in music are offered, with a focus on upper secondary school, with the aim of training artistic educators with competence for both upper secondary school and primary school as well as music and cultural schools. MHI now also has the right to issue artistic degrees at bachelor and master levels.
We are now seeking student assistants who can staff our student center here at MHI. You are the face of the organization and an important part of daily operations. You meet students, teachers and guests and help create a welcoming and professional atmosphere in the work.
Work Tasks
The student assistant is a student who, alongside their studies, supports the operations of Ingesund School of Music by:
Receiving and providing service to students, staff and visitors
Managing daily reception operations, handling phone, email and some administration
Assisting with booking rooms, meetings and equipment
Performing certain administrative tasks related to the operations
Eligibility Requirements
You must be admitted to education at basic or advanced level in one of the School of Music's programs or one-year courses. You also have good knowledge of both Swedish and English.
All employees at Karlstad University must also have good ability to collaborate and treat colleagues and students with respect. They must also take responsibility for both the operations and their own work and contribute to a good working environment.
Assessment Criteria
Particular weight is placed on good academic results and personal qualities such as good organizational ability, cooperation skills, flexibility and attention to detail as well as high service level. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
Terms and Conditions
The employment is time-limited part-time with an extent of 10-20% of full-time, which corresponds to approximately one three-hour work shift two to three weekdays per week. As a student assistant at MHI you will work daytime. Work scheduling is arranged via a pre-arranged schedule. Start date from autumn semester 2026-08-24 or by agreement, until 2026-12-20. The employment may be extended, but for a maximum of three years in total, provided that the eligibility requirements are still met.
