For spring 2027, we are now seeking medical students with an interest in employment as a Research Assistant within the framework of the Medical Faculty's Researcher Track. About the Assignment In parallel with your studies in the medical program, as a Researcher Track assistant you will dedicate three months of research preparatory work per year in a research group, including joint activities for all researcher track students. This time can be distributed across the terms and summer breaks. During term 8, there is a break in the Researcher Track, when you as a medical student complete your independent work. The independent work can advantageously be conducted in the same research group you have been part of previously. From term 9 onwards, you can be admitted as a doctoral student. It is an explicit goal that Researcher Track students are admitted to research studies already during basic education, but there is no automatic process for such admission. Regardless of doctoral admission, you remain in the Researcher Track activities until graduation as a physician. About You We are seeking someone who is well-organized and has the ability to work independently but also enjoys working in a research team. You should be persistent when it comes to problem-solving and must have good collaboration and communication skills. Great weight will be placed on personal qualities and abilities. We want you to: - Be a research-interested medical student at LiU. - Be starting term 3 to 9 in spring 2027. - Have established contact with a researcher and want to assist in a project and explore further. - Have good language skills in Swedish and also in English, as it is often used within our research groups. It is meritorious if you have: - Previous research experience, but it is not a requirement. As a Researcher Track assistant, you will be employed either by https://liu.se/organisation/liu/bkv or https://liu.se/organisation/liu/hmv. A research leader will be your supervisor and will guide you in the project. Therefore, it is already important that you have established contact with a researcher for your work as a researcher track assistant. To be able to be employed as an assistant, you must be admitted to higher education at basic or advanced level. Employment as a Researcher Track Assistant entails employment at 25% and concerns in the first instance 6 months, with the possibility of extension. Start date: January 1, 2027.
