About the Position This position is connected to Basic Physics Education at the Department of Physics, with practical laboratory instruction taking place at Campus Helsingborg. The department offers physics instruction at the basic level in the Civil Engineering bachelor's programs and at the preparatory level in the Technical/Natural Science Foundation Year. The position involves laboratory instruction for two different courses, with close colleagues including the course coordinators and other laboratory instructors (primarily doctoral students), totaling about ten people. Responsibilities As a teaching assistant, your duties may vary, but you must be studying at the faculty where the work is conducted, and your tasks should provide insight into the academic world. Your responsibilities in this position include: Laboratory instruction in basic courses (bachelor's engineering programs) and preparatory courses (technical/natural science foundation year) in physics at Campus Helsingborg Work includes hands-on guidance of students during lab sessions, evaluation of written preparation assignments, assessment (reading and written feedback) of laboratory reports, and reporting results in the Canvas learning platform The position requires travel to and from Campus Helsingborg, typically one or more times per week Qualifications You are eligible to be hired as a teaching assistant if you are actively pursuing studies at the basic or advanced level at the relevant faculty and have not yet completed your degree. Requirements for the position: You study at the Faculty of Engineering (LTH) You have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written You have documented education (completed courses) in physics, especially fundamental classical physics (electricity and mechanics) You possess the personal qualities required to function well as a laboratory instructor, particularly independence and collaboration skills Meritorious qualifications: You study Engineering Physics at the Faculty of Engineering (LTH) You have documented previous experience teaching basic courses and/or preparatory courses in physics Additional Information The position is fixed-term for the period 260916-261231 and involves 20% of full-time work. The position must not negatively impact the teaching assistant's studies and should not be combined with other employment. Regulations regarding educational employment as a teaching assistant are found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12. The position involves on-site work in the laboratory at Campus Helsingborg. Laboratory sessions are scheduled on weekdays 8:00-17:00. The position is covered by the collective agreement for teachers.
