Description UmArts and the School of Architecture at Umeå University are seeking 1 research assistant with an interest in communication, marketing, and digital platforms, who wants to contribute to developing how UmArts research projects and activities are communicated to various target audiences. Our goal is to create a dynamic and interdisciplinary team, and students from the entire Artistic Campus, the Department of Aesthetic Subjects, and Museology are therefore encouraged to apply. The position comprises 10% of full-time work, starting October 1, 2026, or by agreement until June 30, 2027. The application deadline is September 4, 2026. Interviews are planned to be held on Wednesday, September 9. Duties As a research assistant in research production and communication, you will work with UmArts management and research coordinators with a particular focus on marketing and communication in digital channels. You will contribute to developing how UmArts research projects, events, and activities are communicated and made visible to various target audiences. The duties may include producing and publishing content for UmArts website and social media, working with text and visual materials, and collaborating with researchers to develop communication around their projects. You will also support the UmArts team in communication before and during events, seminars, and exhibitions. Other duties may include practical support at public events and exhibitions. Qualifications To be eligible for employment as a research assistant, you must be admitted to education at the basic or advanced level at a university or college. You who apply for this position must: be a student at the School of Architecture, School of Design, School of Art, the Department of Aesthetic Subjects, or study Museology have an interest in developing your knowledge and skills in communication and marketing of artistic research projects have a good understanding of social media and digital communication platforms have experience writing about art, architecture, and design be able to take own initiatives and work independently Previous experience with communication and marketing in digital channels, visual communication, and/or digital content production is an advantage. Experience with public events, exhibition production, and/or work in an artistic or academic environment is also an advantage. Terms As a research assistant, you will be employed by Umeå University. Salary is in accordance with the current local agreement on salary setting for research assistants. The position is 10% of full-time work, starting October 1, 2026, or by agreement until June 30, 2027.
