Alternate Concertmaster

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is seeking an alternate concertmaster. The audition will take place at Konserthuset Stockholm on October 17-18, 2026, following personal invitation. Please read more about the audition and submit your application via Muvac no later than August 16, 2026 via this link (opens in a new window) Invitations to the audition will be sent out no later than September 7, 2026. In the event of a large number of applicants, a digital screening will be conducted. If applicable, this will be announced after the final application deadline. Applicants who have substituted as concertmaster or alternate concertmaster in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, or hold a permanent position as alternate concertmaster or higher, qualify directly for the in-person audition and therefore do not need to submit a video. Candidates who reach the final round may become relevant for future recruitments to vacant concertmaster positions in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
