Specialist psychiatry for children, adolescents, and adults provides knowledge-driven and specialized psychiatric care in collaboration with patients, relatives, and other healthcare providers within and outside Region Kronoberg. The operations are organized into different units where staff work based on integrated teams, outpatient care, and 24-hour care that follow the patient through the entire care chain. Our mission is to provide specialist psychiatry for patients with serious mental illness, complex problems, and often comorbidities. We want to create good conditions for our patients to receive effective treatment with the best possible expertise that leads to improvements for the patient. The Geriatric Psychiatry Unit offers specialist psychiatric care to people over 70 years old and consists of a 24-hour psychiatric inpatient ward, an outpatient clinic, and outpatient care. The target group includes newly diagnosed mental illness and those in need of specialist care, multimorbid elderly where mental health issues are included, as well as people with suspected dementia or severe behavioral disorders in need of evaluation. The unit has a total of 8 care beds in new and fresh facilities, and the building contains generous staff spaces as well as a cafeteria and staff gym. The unit has close collaboration with care partners such as municipal care, county healthcare, and primary care. Our work approach is characterized by person-centered care where nursing assistants, nurses, psychologists, and doctors work in teams together with patients and relatives. The unit also has special ambassadors with specialized expertise in the field of elderly with mental health issues. The workplace is characterized by a pleasant atmosphere and good collaboration climate. We are now recruiting a nurse for 24-hour care. 1 position(s). RESPONSIBILITIES As a nurse with us, you work from a holistic perspective with both psychiatric and somatic care. We work in teams around the patient, and as a nurse you have overall responsibility for patient care. Your duties include routine medication and round work, as well as blood sampling, assessments, and supportive conversations. Additionally, this includes participation in team meetings, cognitive evaluations, treatment planning, and collaboration with the unit's outpatient clinic and outpatient care. After some time, you will also have the opportunity to gain broader knowledge in psychiatry through introduction at one of our nearby units. There is also an opportunity to combine the position with partially working with ECT (daytime) at the clinic's treatment unit. Decision-making pathways are short and you have good opportunities to influence and develop your work, as well as work in general at the unit and at the clinic. If you have clinical experience as a nurse for at least 1 year, you will have the opportunity to apply for paid further education to become a specialist nurse in psychiatric care. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and welcome both experienced and newly graduated applicants. Experience working in psychiatry and/or psychiatric care is a merit, but not a requirement. Regardless of background, we offer thorough and individually designed introduction. In meeting our patients and their relatives, your personal manner and ability to understand others' situations, feelings, and experiences is important.
