Your responsibilities The Office of the Prosecutor is seeking someone who wants to play a central role in crime prevention. As a prosecutor, you will apply law in theory and practice with significant personal responsibility and in collaboration with others. As a prosecutor trainee, you will work with all aspects of criminal cases at a general prosecutor's chamber. You will lead preliminary investigations, make decisions on prosecution, and conduct proceedings in court. Your qualities and qualifications We are seeking someone who is a Swedish citizen with a Nordic law degree. Upon employment as a prosecutor trainee, you must also be qualified as a notary from a district or administrative court. As a person, we want you to have a strong interest in criminal and procedural law be legally skilled have the ability to collaborate and lead others be driven, able to organize and prioritize your work, and make independent decisions be stable and have good judgment have good analytical ability and critical thinking skills have good communication skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. It is meritorious if, in addition to your notary qualification, you have experience with relevant qualified legal work. The recruitment process During your time as a prosecutor trainee, you will have a time-limited employment of 9-12 months. This will be followed by a permanent position. The position is placed at one of the Stockholm Prosecution District's four general prosecutor's chambers: Southern Prosecutor's Chamber, City Prosecutor's Chamber, Northern Prosecutor's Chamber, or Western Prosecutor's Chamber. If you proceed to an interview, you will have the opportunity to express your preference for which chamber you would like to be placed in if you are hired. Prior to an employment offer, the Office of the Prosecutor may conduct a register check in the suspicion register and criminal record register. The register check is conducted on the final candidate. Tests are part of the recruitment process. Interviews are expected to be held in weeks 39-42. The Office of the Prosecutor is an emergency preparedness agency.
