About the job
As an accounting economist with us, you will be qualified support to parishes and congregations within the Diocese of Visby. You contribute to creating stable and long-term financial conditions that make a difference – both in people's everyday lives and for future generations.
You are responsible for ongoing financial administration and work independently with the entire process from bookkeeping to financial statements and reporting. Together with your colleagues, you develop and ensure the quality of financial procedures and working methods.
Duties
Your main responsibilities are to:
establish, monitor and revise budgets
be responsible for ongoing bookkeeping, posting, reconciliations and general ledger
carry out monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
handle accounts receivable and payable and payments
produce financial reports to management and boards
follow up and analyze financial performance, key figures and profitability
compile VAT, employer and income tax returns
be responsible for payroll management, payroll processing and reporting to authorities.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has
post-secondary education in finance or accounting, or equivalent experience
several years of experience with similar tasks
good knowledge of bookkeeping, financial statements and tax returns
good experience working with accounting and payroll systems
B category driving license
shares the Swedish Church's values.
experience of working within the Swedish Church or another non-profit organization is an advantage.
