Duties and Responsibilities As an administrative director, you will lead, coordinate, and develop administrative work within the operation and have personnel responsibility for the administrative unit. You are responsible for ensuring and further developing efficient administrative processes throughout the organization, such as research, education, collaboration, communications, finance, and HR. In close collaboration with the prefect and department heads, you are responsible for planning at the management level and actively participate in the institution's strategic work. You are part of the institution's management group, report to the prefect, and prepare and present matters for the institutional board. Furthermore, you represent the institution in relevant contexts and networks and collaborate with other administrative directors at Lund University. You have formal management, budget, and work environment responsibility for administrative operations and provide support to other managers within the institution. Since the administrative unit is relatively small, the position consists largely of operational work, such as contract review, financial documentation, and finance work within EU projects and other major projects. The unit's mission is broad, which requires diverse competencies within the work group. This includes contributing with relevant analyses and consultative support in both operational matters and development work. Personnel responsibility and overall personnel planning for administrative staff. Planning and monitoring of the administrative operational area. Coordinate, identify synergies, and develop the combined administration. Work environment issues. Participate in relevant internal and external LU networks. The work involves collaboration at all levels and within various networks at Lund University where you are expected to participate actively. Compile the institution's joint financial reporting. Work operatively with the institution's finances. Serve as contact person for finance matters. Qualifications Requirements for employment: University or college education in finance. Management and leadership experience. Experience with budget work and financial statements; knowledge of and/or experience with personnel and work environment matters. Strong ability and experience in creating a good work environment. Experience and ability to work with administrative systems within finance. Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing. Merits for employment: Formal leadership training. Experience with EU projects and other financial processes in the public/state sector. Experience leading change initiatives; experience working in the public/state sector. Experience working in a university/higher education institution. Documented strong communication skills. Documented strong collaboration skills. Documented strong ability to prioritize. You are communicative and attentive and understand the importance of maintaining close dialogue with operations and staff. You have the ability to see the bigger picture, create shared goals, and drive and develop a support function in an academic organization. You are persistent, flexible, and have high integrity. We are looking for someone who is driven to develop appropriate support functions that are integrated into both daily work and planning and decision-making processes. The role requires good understanding of the HR and finance areas as well as the ability to view the assignment from a holistic perspective. You have substantial work experience, work in a structured manner, and can translate long-term goals into concrete working methods. You are a clear and analytical leader who builds trusting relationships, works long-term, and follows up on results in a constructive manner. Great weight is placed on personal qualities. You are communicative, take initiative, and have good collaboration skills as well as the ability, through your competence and understanding of the interaction between academia and administration, to strengthen and develop the operation. Terms The position is permanent on a 100% basis. A probationary period may be applied. During the summer period, the operation will have limited ability to respond to inquiries from applicants.
