At the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Division of Pathology, you will have the opportunity to work in a stimulating and creative environment with dedicated colleagues who conduct both research and high-quality education. Your Role The adjunct position at the division involves teaching within the medical subject area, primarily in nursing program courses. The pedagogical duties include, for example, course responsibility, case presentations, lecturing, and examinations. You are also expected to participate in pedagogical development work. Who Are You? To be eligible for employment as an adjunct, you must have demonstrated pedagogical skill and have completed a degree at an advanced level or possess other professional expertise relevant to the subject content and work tasks of the position. For employment as an adjunct, good scientific skill and good pedagogical skill must be fulfilled. (See guidelines for employment regulations for teachers at Karolinska Institutet). Furthermore, you must have completed higher education pedagogy training comprising three weeks according to SUHF's recommendations for qualifying higher education pedagogy training. If such training is lacking at the time of employment, you must complete such training within the framework of the employment during the first two years of employment. The applicant must be a registered nurse with Swedish credentials or have equivalent education and relevant clinical expertise. Since Swedish is the official language, fluent expression in Swedish in speech and writing is required. Since some students and colleagues have an international background, you should also be able to express yourself in speech and writing in English. Assessment Criteria For employment as an adjunct at Karolinska Institutet, the eligibility requirements and assessment criteria specified in the guidelines to the employment regulations apply in relation to the established employment profile. Contact with students is an important part of the work, which means we will place great emphasis on assessing personal qualities such as good communication and collaboration skills. In assessing applicants, we also place great emphasis on pedagogical skill. Meritorious It is meritorious to have specialist nurse training. It is also meritorious if you hold a doctoral degree and/or have completed higher education pedagogy training according to the Swedish Universities and University Colleges Association's recommendations for qualifying higher education pedagogy training or have acquired equivalent knowledge in another way.
