We are seeking tram operators for our Tvärbanan/Nockebybanan lines Do you want to contribute to more climate-smart travel for our customers and keep the wheels turning in Stockholm? About us AB Stockholms Spårvägar has its foundation in a long and solid tram tradition in Stockholm. With the highest safety, consideration, precision and expertise, we operate both tram and railway traffic in Stockholm. We have four depot locations: Djurgården, Lidingö, Ulvsunda and Neglinge. Our operations include Lidingöbanan: Ropsten – Gåshaga Brygga Spårväg City: T-Centralen – Waldemarsudde Nockebybanan: Bromma's historic tram line from 1912, Alvik – Nockeby Tvärbanan: Sickla – Solna station and Bromma Airport – Alviks strand Saltsjöbanan: Railway with heritage from 1893, Saltsjö-Järla – Saltsjöbaden/Solsidan. About the position As a tram operator with us, you will meet many of Stockholm's most satisfied passengers. We are proud of our operations and to wear our uniform. You will be an important ambassador and our face to the public. We operate traffic essentially around the clock, which means working hours are varying and you work every other weekend. You always start and end your workday at or near our depots. Being a tram operator means you work alone in the driver's cabin but also that you are part of a team with traffic control, maintenance and other employees. Here there is a close relationship between colleagues and management. About you To succeed in this role, you have: Secondary education or other education deemed equivalent by the employer Good ability to read, understand and express yourself orally and in writing in technical Swedish, as this is a prerequisite for completing the training and being able to follow traffic and vehicle instructions Swedish driver's license with minimum category B and completed probationary period Good health including normal vision and hearing according to the Transport Board's regulations (TSFS 2019:113). Experience from roles involving safety work is a merit. As a person you are responsible, have high awareness of safety and are accustomed to following rules. You have good ability to remain calm even when unexpected situations arise in traffic. You have good judgment and experience assessing situations and adapting your actions accordingly with good results. You enjoy collaborating with your coworkers and having contact with passengers. Since traffic has high intensity with schedules and timetables, things can change quickly due to various circumstances. Your ability to quickly adapt, see solutions and maintain a good mood is crucial. You must pass a suitability test, driving test, and the medical requirements set by the Transport Board. The mandatory health examination includes vision, hearing, diabetes, drug and alcohol testing as well as color vision. A criminal record check is also conducted before employment.
