Department Description The Functional Support Department provides support and services to children, youth, and adults with disabilities. We work based on the LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and the Social Services Act to strengthen individuals' independence, security, and participation. The department includes day activities, housing with special services, supported housing, support and service housing, short-term housing for children, leisure activities, respite care and escort services, and personal assistance. The Functional Support Department makes a real difference in people's daily lives and creates conditions for an independent and meaningful life for all. Job Responsibilities As a support assistant at Föreningsgatan, you will provide individually tailored support. You will guide the user in daily living and work in a structured manner based on their needs and in accordance with the law's goals and intentions. You will work both independently and collaboratively with others while maintaining a professional approach and demeanor. You will also serve as a contact person, which includes working with the user, other professionals, and representatives to establish/follow up on and work according to the user's implementation plan. The department uses the Pulsen Combine documentation system. Your work also includes guiding/supporting/accompanying and planning activities as well as providing support to the user in maintaining their home. The department has common areas and facilities that you and other team members are responsible for. Qualifications You have nursing education or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Knowledge and experience in the field of disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, psychiatry, or methodology adapted for people with functional variations are merits. You must be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and be able to document in accordance with applicable legislation. As a person, you are confident and secure in your role and have a good ability to act professionally in all situations that arise. The work includes physical activities with users, so you must have basic physical fitness and an interest in planning and carrying out activities. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a merit in applications for employment in Gällivare Municipality. A criminal record excerpt is required.
