Do you want meaningful and developmental work where you make a difference for children and young people on a unit with dedicated and experienced child secretaries? We are now seeking an experienced and driven senior social worker for the Family Foster Care Unit in Centrum. This position involves overseeing a group of child secretaries who primarily work with children and young people placed in HVB, SiS, or supported housing. At the Family Foster Care Unit, 20 child secretaries work with children and young people across the city who are placed outside their homes according to the Social Services Act (SoL) or the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). As a senior social worker, you will both support and drive a group of five child secretaries. Your work involves coordinating and leading the daily operations, providing methodological guidance to the secretaries, and ensuring high-quality services. You are also responsible for leading the development of working methods, with a focus on ensuring that children and young people in foster care receive the support and care they need. An important part of your role is ensuring the team works in accordance with applicable legislation. The unit has three additional senior social workers, and you will work closely together to provide leadership for all child secretaries on the unit. Beyond being a manager, you are expected to contribute to close collaboration with other units, coordinate work, and promote a holistic approach that centers on young people's needs. You will also monitor and analyze results to drive improvements and development initiatives that further strengthen the operations. In this role, you will have the opportunity to combine operational leadership with strategic development work. You will be a key person in building a service that not only supports children and young people in the here and now, but also lays the foundation for their future. We are actively implementing Signs of Safety, an ongoing initiative not just for the child secretaries but across the entire Children and Youth Department. As a manager, you play a central role in providing methodological guidance based on Signs of Safety. Training and support for this will be provided within the department. We operate from our spacious and welcoming office on Prinsgatan, where child secretaries and family care secretaries work side by side with contact and support secretaries. Qualifications You must have a degree in social work to be considered for this position. We consider it advantageous if you have experience as a senior social worker within a Child and Youth Authority, and we also value experience as a child secretary. We also see knowledge of Signs of Safety as an advantage. You have knowledge of and experience working with both the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and can represent the board in legal proceedings. You need to be attentive and understanding of the dilemmas that can arise when working with placed young people. You are observant and open to understanding others' needs, feelings, and opinions. You take on the leadership role humbly and take responsibility for making clear and well-considered decisions, even in uncomfortable, challenging, or pressured situations. You lead and delegate work with confidence and clarity, ensuring the team has the right conditions to achieve its goals. You are also organized—you plan, structure, and prioritize work efficiently. You ensure work is completed on time and follow up on results. You are motivated by clearly defined goals and have the ability to translate them into concrete action. With the goal in focus, you can reprioritize work when circumstances or needs change. You are also responsible—you take ownership of your tasks and the team's tasks. You think about those we serve and their best interests. You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on the results. We warmly welcome your application! Other Information A valid police clearance certificate must be provided to the employer before a job offer is made.
