17th Surveillance Boat Company is an amphibious unit and one of two combat units belonging to Älvsborg Amphibious Regiment in Gothenburg.
The company consists of company leadership with staff, a Staff Section with Command Vessel, Close Protection Section, Surveillance Boat Platoon, Sensor Platoon, Boarding Section, or Supply Section.
The company specializes in coastal submarine warfare, anti-ship warfare, and boarding operations.
17th Surveillance Boat Company is expanding and we are now seeking someone who wants to develop within a company with excellent future prospects.
Primary Duties
The position of 1st Engineer is located on HMS Skaftö. A primary responsibility is to lead and conduct preventive and corrective maintenance aboard the vessel.
Other duties of varying nature also occur, such as leading technical training, deck work, and deeper involvement in certain subsystems such as weapons stations and ROV operations.
Qualifications
Government education with focus on marine engineering
Marine engineering certification at minimum level M7
Strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
Approved FM FysS basic level
Meritorious
Knowledge of PRIO and LIFT as well as RSF
Service in a similar position
Personal Qualities
As a professional officer in the company, you are required to demonstrate diligence, initiative, responsibility, teamwork ability, and good administrative skills. You must be able to perform well in different environments, aboard vessels/boats, in the field, and at home base, and be able to handle temporary peaks in workload. In the selection process, considerable weight will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

Employment form: Permanent position as Officer/Professional, Military Staff/Professional, which begins with a 6-month probationary period. Individual salary setting applies.
Work location: Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg. Travel and evening/weekend service and exercise days occur.
