The Design field is interdisciplinary, incorporating perspectives and methods from technical/natural sciences, social sciences/humanities, and artistic domains. As a University Lecturer in Design, you will teach at both undergraduate and advanced levels in Swedish and English, and supervise students in Linköping University's various design-oriented programs. Teaching focuses particularly on participatory design, service design, and interaction design. Your work includes course design and course responsibility. Design research encompasses a range of activities, from scientific investigations to experimentation, often in the form of innovative combinations driven by a conscious need to deepen understanding of what design is and how design could develop in the future. Design research is highly international and is therefore conducted in both Swedish and English. This position is located at the department https://liu.se/organisation/liu/ida/hcs and in the research group Interaction and Service Design (IxS). The research group conducts design research focused on services and interaction. Over the past 20 years, we have worked in various parts of the public sector, and for several years have been involved in knowledge development at the intersection of AI and design, as well as at the intersection of policy development and design. The department's research and teaching are focused on studying and improving interaction between individuals, computer systems, and information resources. Human beings and their capabilities are both a starting point and a goal. Important research areas include service design, human-computer interaction, knowledge engineering, language technology, geographic information systems, computer support for education/training, information management, technology adoption in organizations, and safety in complex systems. Your qualifications We are looking for candidates with a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence, and who have demonstrated pedagogical skill, or other professional skill that is relevant given the subject matter and responsibilities of the position. For this position, equal weight will be given to scientific and pedagogical skill in the first instance, and other skills deemed equivalent will be considered secondarily. Regarding pedagogical skill, the following will be assessed: A requirement for the position is documented pedagogical skill, demonstrated through teaching and supervision in design at undergraduate and advanced levels. Particularly meriting for the position is pedagogical skill in the intersection of design and service contexts. Meriting for the position is completion of courses in higher education pedagogy, or acquisition of equivalent knowledge in other ways. Regarding scientific skill, the following will be assessed: A requirement for the position is documented scientific skill and documented experience in research within two of the following areas: -design in the form of participatory design, codesign, and/or design work -service in the form of service logic and/or service organization -human-computer interaction in the form of interaction design and/or UX Particularly meriting is having scientific skill in all three areas. Meriting for the position is: -having experience in successfully planning, applying for, and obtaining research funding from external sources. -having a research focus that strengthens and complements the research mentioned in the three areas above in combination with research in the department (see https://liu.se/en/organisation/liu/ida/hcs). Among other achievements, Sweden's first professorship in Disaster Medicine was established at Linköping University. Disaster medicine is a clinical subject traditionally rooted in trauma surgery. From its inception, the Disaster Medicine Center has applied a progressive approach to disaster medicine with a clearly interdisciplinary and interprofessional approach. The disaster medicine field is currently particularly relevant in relation to strengthening healthcare preparedness in total defense, while disaster medicine issues recur across multiple societal challenges such as climate change, cyberattacks, terrorism, and pandemics. As a professor, you are active within the research community, participate in departmental activities such as seminars and workshops, engage in research projects, communicate results through scientific publications, and contribute to attracting external research funding. The center also conducts various types of professional education in which you are expected to participate. You lead scientific projects and the center's academic work and contribute to external funding of center activities. As a Professor in Disaster Medicine, you teach at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels in Swedish and English, and supervise students in the various programs of the Faculty of Medicine. Detention Officer in Linköping – Intermittent Position

JOB DUTIES Work as a detention officer involves handling and meeting individuals who have been deprived of their liberty for various reasons. Several are detained for the purpose of investigating crimes, but it can also involve shorter detentions due to intoxication. The detention officer is the person the detainee has closest contact with during their stay as a person deprived of liberty in the detention facility, and the work is conducted under the leadership of a station commander. The assignment includes administrative tasks such as documentation regarding detention and supervision, as well as more hands-on tasks such as assisting intervention activities with transport or various forms of testing. It also includes assisting the local police district with other administrative work tasks. Work pace varies over time and depends on how many people are detained. The work is conducted 24/7, all days of the week. The work places great demands on professional conduct and an approach characterized by respect for everyone's equal worth.
