The Fire and Rescue Service in Strömstad Municipality operates two fire stations, one in Strömstad and one in Skee. JOB DUTIES In Strömstad Municipality, firefighters, also called on-call rescue service personnel, are employed part-time in our rescue service. This means that as a firefighter, you have a regular employer and work on-call as a firefighter alongside your main job. With us, you are on-call as a firefighter every fourth week, which means that if an alarm comes in during your on-call period, you leave your workplace, your training session, or your Friday plans to respond as a firefighter. Work as a firefighter is varied and can range from fires and traffic accidents to providing medical care while awaiting an ambulance. BUP Day Care Unit is part of BUP Section Intensive Outpatient Care, which provides treatment for children and young people with complex psychiatric symptoms who require intensive interventions. The units within the section work closely together where we collectively prioritize and manage our shared resources. The section operates based on Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT), which in short means flexibly and quickly prioritizing what the patient themselves experience as the greatest obstacle, regardless of whether the solution falls within BUP's responsibility or requires services from other parts of society. The Day Care Unit offers stabilizing, mobilizing, and rehabilitative interventions and complements regular child psychiatric treatment with our specific expertise. BUP Day Care Unit receives children aged 0-17 who need child psychiatric rehabilitation – in order to return to their previous everyday life or to new contexts in which to develop. Children come to us via referral primarily from BUP Intensive Outpatient Care and BUP Inpatient Care. About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce reoffending – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand facilities, and inmate transportation. The Stockholm West operational area in the beautiful Ekerö municipality includes the open prison Svartsjö, the semi-open women's prison Färingsö, and the Färingsö remand facility. Approximately 170 employees and ten managers oversee, lead, and develop operations that accommodate about 270 inmates. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but the facility also employs healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others. Inmates participate in education, various treatment programs, or work in woodworking and handicraft industries, packaging, and assembly. Inmates also operate an organic farm with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. Both prisons are within walking distance of each other and are accessible by bus or car. At both facilities, you park free of charge in our staff parking area. Responsibilities As a commanding officer (VO), you will operationally lead and distribute daily work at the prison/remand facility in consultation with the prison inspectors. Your responsibilities also include staffing matters in the form of short-term scheduling, where you ensure we have the right number of employees in the right places. You will collaborate with our central staffing team in this work. The commanding officer represents the employer and ensures that the chain of command is maintained all the way to all employees. The work is varied and often maintains a high pace. In your role as a commanding officer at the Stockholm West operational area, you anchor decisions made, communicate clearly and directly, and contribute to a safe and efficient work environment. Some of the duties this position includes: monitoring daily security work and taking measures when necessary, creating and developing systems for monitoring daily security measures, ensuring that laws, regulations, directives, and the security plan are followed. You will also assist management at Stockholm West in the work of systematic fire safety, search and urine testing strategy/monitoring, local security meetings, statistics, training activities, security planning, etc. You exercise operational leadership based on operational needs, with transportation and security work as particularly prioritized areas. Decision-making follows the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's regulations. Outside office hours, the commanding officer is the highest local operational decision-maker under the chief warden on call. Within the Stockholm West operational area, a total of ten commanding officers will work – a team of five at Färingsö prison and a team of five at Svartsjö prison. These ten commanding officers will together form the Stockholm West operational area's commanding officer group with a shared manager. The group will work closely together on procedures and structure and will cover for each other during training, leave, or other absences. Work is conducted according to a 5-week rotating schedule with day, night, and weekend shifts. The schedule includes seven night shifts during a five-week period, and all work shifts are 12 hours long.
