Eye Clinic, Nyköping Hospital About Us Region Sörmland's eye clinic is a regional clinic with offices at hospitals in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, and Katrineholm. We perform approximately 60,000 visits per year and operate both surgical and outpatient services including emergency services. Nyköping is an office with approximately 28 employees. Those of us who work here are doctors, nurses, ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists, optometrists, nursing assistants, and administrative staff, all with different expertise to provide our patients with the best care. Your Responsibilities As a nurse or master's optometrist at our eye clinic, you will have varied and engaging work. The duties at the clinic include preparing patients for doctor visits with various examinations, but you may also have your own independent clinics, for example photographing the eye fundus and visual field testing. A large patient group for us consists of those with macular degeneration. These conditions are treated with intravitreal injections, which our nurses, after training, perform. About You You are a licensed nurse and/or have advanced training as a district nurse. If you have an interest in working with elderly patients and are considering managing your own specialist clinic for elderly care, that is an advantage, though not a requirement for the position.
