Our client has both motor and intellectual disabilities and requires comprehensive support in his daily life. The job duties include assistance with all daily activities such as transfers, personal hygiene, meals, and dressing. You will also actively work to stimulate play, interaction, and fine motor development. The client does not speak and communicates primarily through body language, but is training to use pictures and sign language. Experience with AAC, sign language as support (TAKK), or picture-based communication is a plus. During the day you will assist and support him at his job. You are calm, present, with a sense of humor, and understand that you will sometimes need to stay in the background. His disability means you will be his arms and legs in various situations, but he leads and plans his assistance himself. As his assistant you will help with personal care, mobility, household tasks, and other activities. Being a non-smoker and having a driver's license is a requirement as driving his car is part of the job. You will also need access to your own vehicle to get to and from work.
