Department: Child & Adolescent Psychiatry We are Academic Hospital – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we serve two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. With us, you will experience both challenging trials and fantastic moments, in a strong community with colleagues. Welcome with your application! Our Operations The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry emergency operations and NHV for severe eating disorders are located in the psychiatry building at Academic Hospital. Here you will be welcomed to varied and rewarding teamwork! BUP Emergency Reception The emergency reception receives patients up to 18 years old with various psychiatric diagnoses. The reception is open around the clock. Teamwork is important as the nurse works together with doctors and care assistants to assess the patient. You will meet young people and their families in difficult life situations. The reception has good procedures for how we handle and assess cases. Providing the best possible care is an important part of our work here. BUP Emergency Ward The ward is a 24-hour care facility. It primarily cares for patients who come to the emergency reception and need more extensive and longer interventions than what can be offered in outpatient care. The ward has no specific diagnostic focus, but admission reasons are many, with the most common being suicide prevention, depression, and eating disorders. We also see patients with symptoms of psychosis and bipolar disorder. NHV Severe Eating Disorders In our national highly specialized care (NHV) team, we offer assessment, treatment, and follow-up according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's special conditions for NHV directed at children and young people with severe eating disorders. Care is based on individualized and intensive interventions for the entire family in a multidisciplinary team. Treatment is typically provided within a 12-week framework. Your Assignment You will work in teams at the emergency reception, ward, and in NHV for severe eating disorders. We work to ensure the best possible outcomes of our care interventions. This includes building alliances with patients and guardians. You will assess various symptoms of mental health issues and participate in planning and implementing various measures. You will represent the nursing care perspective for the patients you are responsible for. In collaboration with colleagues from different professions and occupational groups, you will assess and plan the patient's need for nursing care and medical treatment. You work closely with the patient and cooperate with outpatient care and other community services. You are responsible for different stages of the nursing process, administer medications, and lead and distribute work. Mentoring students is also part of your duties. You will also contribute to developing somatic and psychiatric nursing care on the ward together with your nursing colleagues. Your Qualifications You are a licensed nurse. It is advantageous if you have specialist training in psychiatric care or care of children and young people. We would appreciate it if you have experience in psychiatric nursing, work with children and young people, eating disorder treatment, and/or 24-hour care. Your Competence You are confident in your professional role, which is reflected in your approach to families in crisis. You keep the patient in focus and are responsible and motivated in your work. Beyond your professional knowledge, you are an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good work environment. Being creative, solution-focused, and building conditions for good collaboration with open dialogue within the unit will be important ingredients in our work – along with a measure of perseverance.
