Specialist Physician, Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Umeå

The Children's and Youth Center Västerbotten is a regional clinic responsible for all specialist care in the county for children and adolescents ages 0-18 years. Our base unit has approximately 400 employees and our operations are broad, spanning several medical areas including general pediatrics, oncology, neonatology, allergy and asthma, nephrology, gastroenterology, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, diabetes, and more. We also have extensive acute care operations. In Umeå, there is a large outpatient clinic, a day emergency clinic, and three pediatric wards specializing in general pediatrics, oncology, and neonatology respectively. Our goal is to offer all children and families in our target group the best possible healthcare with good accessibility, respectful treatment, and strong patient participation in care. The care at the Children's and Youth Center maintains very high standards both nationally and internationally. We prioritize research and in collaboration with Umeå University, we conduct a large number of research projects with direct patient relevance. On-call service in primary or backup call lines is included; assignment to respective call lines is determined by your experience level and any subspecialization. QUALIFICATIONS You are a licensed physician with a specialist certificate in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. About the Role You will work with a combination of inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, with flexibility depending on your experience and interests. In inpatient care, the focus is on patients requiring 24/7 treatment, including acute conditions. You will be involved in assessment, treatment planning, medication, and discharge planning together with the team. In outpatient care, you will be part of a multidisciplinary clinic organized into specialized teams, including general psychiatry, diagnostics, bipolar disorders, and psychosis.
