Part-Time Assistant for 17-Year-Old in Karlstad
We are now seeking an additional colleague for our client in Karlstad for a part-time position of approximately 30%. Who am I? I am a 17-year-old boy living with my family and cats in the eastern parts of Karlstad. On weekdays I attend school, which I travel to together with my assistant who is with me there all day. During my free time, I enjoy listening to audiobooks and music, taking walks, and swimming. My functional variation means that I use a wheelchair and need support with most things. For example, transfers, personal and medical care. I consume food and drinks mostly through a feeding tube (directly into my stomach through a tube). I communicate partly through body language and vocalizations. Here's what a typical day with me might look like: On a regular school day, I am usually ready when you as an assistant arrive in the morning. We then travel together to school by school transport and participate in the day's lessons, meet with classmates, and eat lunch. When we get home in the afternoon, I usually stretch out, rest, and eat a little before the assistant for the evening shift arrives. In the evening we sometimes take a walk, have a shower before it's time for evening routines. Who are you? For this position I am looking for a calm and trustworthy assistant who can be with me both at school and in the home environment. You are attentive and responsive to my signals. You have a good command of the Swedish language and if you know sign language, that's a plus. I would appreciate it if you take the initiative to come up with activities together with me. It is important that you can be with me when swimming both in a pool and outdoors, as this is something I enjoy doing. You should also not be allergic to cats or horses! About the position: The position is approximately 30% and divided between days and evenings with work every other weekend except during stays at short-term care. Working hours are 07:30-16:30 or 16:30-21:00 on weekdays, Saturday 09:00-18:00, and Sunday 11:00-18:00. We are also seeking you if you want to work as a temporary substitute for this client. The position starts immediately. We conduct continuous selection. Passal Assistans offers rewarding and varied work with good employment terms, training, and wellness benefits. Fixed hourly rate by agreement and other compensation according to collective agreement. You will also receive good support and contact with your responsible coordinator. Welcome with your application! Announcement ref.nr: 8060 Responsible recruiter: Johan Håkansson Tel: 010-7077822 Passal Assistans Kasernhöjden 3A 653 39 Karlstad Tel: 010-70 77 800 E-mail: [email protected] Applicants for this position must be able to present a valid ID document such as a passport or national ID (driver's license is not valid) and an extract from the criminal record at the interview. Personal Assistant to Goal-Oriented Woman - Hourly Position
Personal assistant to an engaged and goal-oriented client — unpretentious and secure We are looking for a warm, present, and unpretentious personal assistant for an adult client (40 years old) who, following a serious stroke in 2023, has a newly acquired physical disability but retained cognitive abilities. The client is actively engaged in rehabilitation and wants to continue living a rich and meaningful life — she values self-determination, integrity, and participation highly. You will be a trusted presence who assists with personal care, mobility, help with home activities, communication support in rehabilitation work, and coordination during visits from loved ones, including her daughter who visits occasionally. The client has some function in one hand, neck, and some function in all limbs, and needs support in many daily tasks — from dressing and undressing, positioning and transfers to cooking, hygiene, supervision, and practical arrangements. Beyond basic care tasks, we are looking for someone who can be proactive and engage with the client's interests — culture, gardening/allotments, social issues, and activities in the local area. Communication and patience are crucial — the client needs a humble person who listens, can interpret needs, and at the same time take own initiative when the situation requires it. Experience in personal assistance or similar care work is a merit, but most important is personal chemistry, empathy, and respect for self-determination. We would very much like you to have very good Swedish language skills to be the client's linguistic interpreter and source of security. If you share an interest in culture, gardening, or social issues, it's a plus, but not a requirement — what matters most is that you are present, responsible, patient, and able to build trust. Personal qualities Empathetic, attentive, and calm in interactions with others. Responsible, punctual, and reliable. Flexible and proactive — dares to suggest activities and solutions that promote the client's recovery. Respect for self-determination and integrity. Good stress tolerance and patience in situations that can be emotionally demanding. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and chemistry. Please include references and, if possible, a current criminal record check. Work hours: daytime, evenings, nights (sleeping shifts), and weekends. Works well to combine with studies or other part-time work. Employment: The position is an hourly position that can lead to the possibility of fixed shifts on schedule if everything works well and feels good for all parties. A criminal record check is required to be considered for employment. There are full-time, part-time, and hourly positions available. Training/introduction will be provided on-site.
