Uppsala University, Department of Medical Sciences Description of the Subject Area The disease panorama in pulmonary medicine spans several major public health conditions such as asthma, sleep apnea, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), allergic airway diseases, and lung cancer. Within these areas, the research group conducts clinical and epidemiological studies. In collaboration with preclinical research groups, the group also participates in several translational projects. Specialist Physician, Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Umeå

The Children's and Youth Center Västerbotten is a regional clinic responsible for all specialist care in the county for children and adolescents ages 0-18 years. Our base unit has approximately 400 employees and our operations are broad, spanning several medical areas including general pediatrics, oncology, neonatology, allergy and asthma, nephrology, gastroenterology, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, diabetes, and more. We also have extensive acute care operations. In Umeå, there is a large outpatient clinic, a day emergency clinic, and three pediatric wards specializing in general pediatrics, oncology, and neonatology respectively.
